System Test

If you are interested in participating in our Live Virtual Classroom or On-Demand Training, please make sure to run a quick System Test. To ensure all participants have an optimum web conferencing experience, it is best for all students to verify the minimum system requirements before enrolling or participating in a Grendel Virtual Classroom/Conference.

Student system requirements:
Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2, 2003 R2 or Vista.:
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (Recommend ActiveX enabled)
• Firefox 1.5 or higher (Recommend Java installed)
Apple Mac (runs on Intel- and PowerPC-based computers), Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4
• Firefox 1.5 or higher
• Safari™ 2.0 or higher
• Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 or higher

Part 1, System Check (automatically performed at System Check link)
• Ensures students machine has the proper components
• This system supports only Win32 and Mac operating systems.
• This part tests your system for compatibility with the web conferencing software.
• Tests the student-machine:
- Platform
- Browser
- Color Depth
- JavaScript (must enable JavaScript)
- Cookies (must allow cookies).

Part 2, Join Test (makes sure the student machine has the required client-side, web conferencing software).
• Joins students into an actual iLinc session
• This part tests your network for compatibility with the web conferencing software and prepares your system for your first online session.
