SoftRIP for Desktop and Small Format Printers
Small format inkjet printers are becoming increasingly important in the photographic, screen printing, and proofing markets—applications where exact dot placement and print quality are critical. Unfortunately, the low cost of these printers has made the relative cost of sophisticated RIP software too high. Now, Wasatch introduces special products for smaller format printing, providing smaller printer operators a superior RIP solution at a price more consistent with their hardware outlay.
SoftRIP Desktop Edition
Now you can harness the full power of Wasatch SoftRIP to drive your Epson Stylus Pro 4000 (or other desktop format inkjet printer) for a fraction of the full price. The Desktop Edition of SoftRIP includes all of the industry-leading color and workflow features that have made our flagship product the world leader in print management. SoftRIP Desktop Edition includes every feature in the standard SoftRIP version, and differs only in the size of printers it supports.
Includes support for the Epson Stylus Pro 4000 and other desktop printers smaller than 17" wide.

Super Clear Film 13in X19in (100 sheets) Premium Film Positives from The Grendel
The Grendel's premium film specially manufactured to give the highest quality results available with dye based inks and the Wasatch RIP.
This film manufactured to exacting standards is the most flaw free film of any on the market, made to the highest standards for any film available on the market The Grendel's proof positive film represents the highest quality film available to the screen printing market for making positives with an ink jet printer.
The Grendel's premium film compared to the bargain priced films with thin ink emulsion layers is considered the pinnacle in quality. A quick overview reveals a much higher quality absorbent layer free of flaws common to the bargain priced films.
A microscopic comparison of The Grendel's premium film and the low priced lesser quality bargain products shows great differences in the absorbent emulsion layers.
Photo A - 50 and 100x magnification of The Grendel's premium film.
Photo B - 50 and 100x magnification of low priced lesser quality bargain product.
The Grendel's proof positive film is a 4-mil optically clear heat- stabilized polyester base film with an ink passable and Ink absorbing emulsion layers on one side of the polyester film.

The Grendel's proof positive film has extremely low D-Min (Density Minimum) film open area (non-inked clear areas) have a Visual light density of less than 0.065 D-Min and a UV light density of less than 0.125
The Grendel's proof positive film helps provide instantaneous ink drying that takes less than 1.5 seconds and creates a waterproof surface.
The Grendel's proof positive film is available in standard cut sheet sizes.

Horizon Options and Accessories
Servo Indexer is optimal for the Horizon. Servo indexing provides for a very noticeable smoother, faster and quieter indexing which promotes faster production rates and a much quieter environment for machine operators.
AC-driven print heads are available on units with servo indexer. Must be factory installed and cannot be retrofitted. AC heads provide increased power and control of the print and flood strokes. They are an optimal choice when using dense inks or for high-end work where maintaining consistent speed across the entire stroke length is crucial.
Foot pedal controls both auto and manual index modes.
Tool-less individual head off contact (IHOC). Simply turn IHOC knobs a specific number of clicks to individually control the off contact on any head. Purchase for one, all, or any number of specific heads.
Screen width extenders. These allow for the use of wider screens, and facilitate a wider maximum image area.
Skip Shirt Smash buttons located at both Load and Unload Station to prevent printing on blank pallets or misloaded t-shirt.
Flash Cure Units. A full range of flash cures are available for use with the Horizon including the Infrared Shuttle Flash and the Medium Quartz Rapid Wave Flash.
The Pneumatic Driven Medium Quartz Q-Runner Flash is available when flashing and printing on the same head is desired. This can add versatility to your press. Great for adding flash capability without reducing the color capacity.
Pallets. Numerous sizes are available in a variety of styles including Quick Release, slide clamping style, youth, sleeve, double sleeve, all-over and jacket hold down. We can make a custom pallet for your application.
We can customize an entire press for your application. Need a different print stroke length? We can add it. You will never use a specific station as a print head? We can remove it. We have manufactured special use presses for applications such as printing on promotional bags. Let us know what your requirements are and see what we can do.
4, 5, 6 and 8 color machines can be constructed to fit through standard walkthrough doorways. Just let us know your requirements. This MUST be specified at time of order and cannot be retrofitted.

The T-Quoter business management software is designed to allow you to put in all of your overhead expenses, labor expenses, equipment costs, and other variables to help you quickly and easily price out customer jobs. Since there are so many different shops and different ways to price things we have developed the T-Quoter SE Version 2.0 to handle almost any situation. You can use a formula driven model for pricing T-Shirts, price matrix pricing for your embroidery or work from a fixed price sheet for certain items. Of course you can also manually over-ride any of the prices at any time.
With the built-in scheduler you can gain a better grip on your production schedule. You can see at a glance exactly what jobs are due and how long they should take to print. Plus, you can define when and on what days all your screen printing, embroidery and other work orders are allowed to be scheduled. You can even specify which work order types are allowed to be scheduled at the same time giving you even more flexibility in scheduling.
The T-Quoter is actually a tool that you can use in your shop to help you get better organized, more profitable, and help you know what is going on - all in one easy to use program. Whether you do screen printing, embroidery, make signs and banners or do promotional products, the T-Quoter SE Version 2.0 is what you need to allow you more time to focus on growing your business, not figuring out what to charge customers.

More Information:
Black Body® is a physics term that represents the most efficient absorber of radiant energy. In 1967 Black Body® Corporation developed a flat panel emitter with an excellent "emissivity" factor (rate of emitting energy) that is highly efficient and uniform.
That means the proprietary Black Body® emitter converts almost all of the energy used into clean, even heat across the entire face of the element, with a durability surpassing anything comparable in the industry.
Success in numerous commercial and industrial applications led to the discovery that Black Body® heaters performed exceptionally well in the screenprinting industry, "flashing" (gelling) most inks in 5-7 seconds and "curing" (completely drying) those inks in 30-40 seconds.

R.I.P and Film Positives Discuss producing positives with an inkjet printer and why it in necessary to have a R.I.P.
-Since all professional level graphic programs (Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop) require access to a postscript compatible printer, a R.I.P. is very important.
-Since inkjets are non-postscript printers, a R.I.P is required.
-R.I.P is a Raster Imaging Processor.
-Understand why printer dialogs inside some graphic programs will not even appear without a post script compatible printer.
-Learn how having a R.I.P installed simulates having the post script compatible printer online.
-Review having emulsion up (right reading) and why that is important.
-Discuss how and why a R.I.P. pretends to be a printer for your graphics program.
-Discuss how a R.I.P. communicates dot placement and dot size to the printer allowing for a deeper, darker image.
-Understand the importance of film and ink working along with the R.I.P to make effective positives.
-Compare output from an inkjet printer using a R.l.P. to a laser printer with toner on vellum.
-Understand the importance of a high-quality positive for professional results and how to obtain them.

Exposure Calculator Know your correct exposure time! KIWO ExpoCheck The KIWO ExpoCheck is designed to be the easiest and most versatile exposure and stencil graphics testing kit available.
The ten-step exposure calculator is quick to use and even quicker to read and calculate proper exposures.
The KIWO ExpoCheck consists of four different films: The EXPOSURE TEST FILM, and three different RESOLUTION FILMS for coarse, medium, and fine mesh counts. The system is a complete exposure test kit to find and maintain the optimal exposure for any given screen.
Not only does The KIWO ExpoCheck contain the ten-step transfer, multi-density filter for exposure control, but it also contains some of the most innovative graphic tools to aid in the choosing of mesh and the mesh coating that is best for your particular applications.
The KIWO ExpoCheck is a full KIT that contains the following: A ten-step transfer, multi-density filter called the ExpoCheck EXPOSURE TEST FILM
The neutral density filters on the EXPOSURE TEST FILM allow the user to perform one overall exposure, resulting in 10 areas with varying degrees of exposure. The resulting exposures represent 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100% of the initial test exposure. The user simply evaluates the 10 areas to determine the correct exposure, which is typically a compromise between best resolution and full exposure or full resistance.
Three ten-step positives called the ExpoCheck Resolution Films that have varying line thicknesses and halftone screens for use with:
-Fine Mesh Counts
-Medium Mesh Counts
-Coarse Mesh Counts
These three levels of resolution provide the user with an appropriate test pattern for their production demands. The resolution films can even be used as a base for a manual step test!
The exposure test with the EXPOSURE and RESOLUTION FILM together also provide a realistic evaluation of appropriate, reproducible resolution at various exposure durations.
Please see a technical article written by the Grendel's own Master Screen Printer, Douglas Grigar, about the use of exposure calculators and how to read them which features the use of The KIWO ExpoCheck. We are happy to host this free article on the Industry Information section of our website.

Description:
QCM brand XOLB inks are high opacity, multi-purpose inks designed for opaque and general printing. XOLB from QCM has a smooth, creamy consistency leaves an even, uniform color on flashed under bases, including white and can be opaque on dark garments without a white base using screen TPI (threads per inch) counts lower than 160 per inch. XOLB inks are fast (lower temperature) flashing, cure with a non-tack surface and contain rich, bright pigments.
- Note: Colors shown are not exact, web representations can not be exact.
Printing Recommendations:
XOLB inks print using a wide range of screen meshes, and work well with direct emulsions and capillary films producing 5 to 20% EOM (Emulsion Over Mesh). Best results are with screens that are 20 newtons or higher, but will perform well with lower tension screens with proper off contact adjustments. The best opacity is gained with a heavy flood and a correct squeegee shear depositing a layer of ink on the surface of the shirt. Driving any plastisol ink into the fabric will diminish the opacity and cause excessive curing temperatures and time under heat. Sharp squeegees from 60-80 work well with 70 duro the best general choice, a triple duro squeegee of 70-90-70 the optimum general printing choice. Curing:
Recommended cure temperature is 325 degrees F (160 degrees C). Plastisol cure is instant when it reaches a final temperature, the time or "dwell" listed is in reference to the fact that the entire ink layer must hit the cure temperature to have a complete fusion or cure of the ink. When fully cured the ink is completely wash fast. Low wash temperatures and cool dryer settings are optimum, but cannot be ironed or dry cleaned. Substrates:
XOLB inks are suitable for cotton, cotton blends, acrylics, polyesters and poly-cotton blends. Complete testing is necessary for proper adhesion and washability. Dye migration, sublimation and bleeding colors are possible with polyester fabrics.
Cleaning:
QCM platisol inks contain no lead pigments. XOLB inks when properly disposed of have no environmental impact. Use a quality screen ink wash labeled for use as an "on press wash" designed for your emulsion (to prevent lock in) for cleaning screens.

Substrates:
